Theyre saying it was because the surgeon who put in his stent (and who was undoubtedly the best in the country) was totally inexperienced at dealing with an obese patient, which does cause a lot of complications in any surgery. Chairman Kim is very likely the only obese person in the entire country.

I’m sure there is a German word for the combination of pity and disgust I feel for this man.

He was born in a horrible circumstance with only two possible life paths: continue the monarchical line and live, or do the right thing and die. He, in a very different way from his subjects , never had a chance for a happy life.

If he is dead his sister may very well take over. She’s made a few international appearances for North Korea in the past. She’s rumored to be just as ruthless as her brother.

Any other time I’d hope his death would lead to a revolt and new regime, but right now the last thing we need is a N Korean civil war. It  would probably involve those in power nuking their own people to solidify their position without caring what other countries suffer from the fallout.
